Title of the Innovation: ROT FIX: A Broad Spectrum Environment Friendly Formulation for Control of Root Disease in Mulberry
Brief About Innovation
The root rot disease in mulberry plants has become epidemic in nature and has potential to destroy plants. Mulberry plants are the only food source for silkworm which are extensively grown. The management of the disease without affecting the nutritive value of mulberry leaves is inevitable for sericulture industry. Scientists at Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute (CSR & TI), Mysuru has developed Rot Fix: a broad spectrum formulation for the management of the disease with good results in field trials taken at major hot spot areas.
Rot-fix has been developed for the management of a group of pathogens causing the root rot disease which is soil borne and caused pathogenic fungi viz., Fusarium Solani, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia bataticola and Botryodiplodia theobromae.
Plant and Machinery: Inoculation chamber, autoclave, shaker, microbiological media preparation setup, incubators, hot-air oven, etc.
