Title of the Innovation: Bioadhesive patch for buccal/ sublingual delivery of Insulin
Brief About Innovation
The present invention relates to polymeric nanopatch for the delivery of Insulin via Oral cavity. Buccal and sublingual mucosa has emerged as a promising delivery site for insulin.
Several approaches such as penetration enhancers, chemical modification, bioadhesive drug delivery system, use of microspheres and nanoparticles for improving bioavailability of insulin have been used.
Developed formulations were in-vitro characterized and efficacy was accessed in animal. Developed formulation have demonstrated better sugar lower efficacy.
